Flu Vaccination Clinics

Planned dates and information can be found under our Appointments tab: Flu Vaccination Clinics

Over the last couple of months we have noticed an increase in the aggression and use of abusive language our staff are receiving.

We would like to remind our patients that we are working very hard to meet the needs of all our patients and any form of aggression, abuse or use of bad language towards our team will not be tolerated.

If you are unhappy or have any concerns we would request that these are raised in the appropriate manner.

Thank you. Contact us here.

From July 19th, the EPCC Team will continue to wear face masks, and other PPE as required, to protect our patients and our colleagues and prevent possible infections.

We politely request that patients coming into the surgery continue to wear a mask also please.

Church Walk and Church Street Sites

Our doors are now open and so there is now no need to ring the bell beforehand, but we do still need to manage footfall in the surgery to keep everyone safe. Can we please ask that you do not arrive too early for your appointment and use the external prescription request box at the side of the Church Walk site instead of bringing this to reception.

Accessing GP Services

Patients requiring GP services should contact the Surgery by telephoning 01773 304700.

The receptionist will ask the patient to provide a few basic details regarding the nature of the call and, if appropriate, put the patient on a GP’s triage list. This information is to help the GP prioritise the patients’ needs.

The GP will telephone the patient (usually the same day, depending on the urgency and timing of the request). Up to 2 telephone attempts will made. Patients should have their telephone close by so as to avoid missing the call. The caller ID will be from a private/unknown caller.

The GP will ask the patient questions and determine the course of treatment. This may be the GP booking a face-to-face appointment with a GP, Advanced Clinical Practitioner, a Practice Pharmacist, a Nurse or another clinician. It could also be providing advice over the phone, issuing a prescription, or making a referral to another service for tests and/or investigations.

Covid 19 Survivors Group organised by Self Help UK  and moulded by its members

Eastwood Primary Care Centre offers a professional and caring service to our 19,600 patients, utilising the skills and enthusiasm of our team members we aim to provide efficient, accessible, friendly and high quality family health care.

We currently have 2 sites, the Church Street site is the Urgent Care Centre for issues that require attention on the day and the Church Walk site is the Planned Care Centre for pre-bookable routine appointments. Staff and clinicians work across both sites.

Our team of clinicians consist of General Practitioners, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and Phlebotomists who are all working together to meet the changing demands of primary care.

Our Advanced Clinical Practitioners are experienced clinicians who can assess, diagnose and treat patients, prescribing when indicated and referring for specialist opinions if necessary.

As we are a GP training practice we are involved in the teaching and training of doctors at different stages of their careers, these are GP Registrars.  They are qualified doctors who are engaged in their Postgraduate Training Programme with us at Eastwood Primary Care Centre.

When seeing one of these doctors you may be asked for your consent to video the consultation.  This is part of the doctors' training and is only ever used for teaching and training purposes.

We are also involved in medical student teaching.  As part of their training they are required to see patients.  If you agree to see a Medical Student, they are supervised by a GP from the practice who will oversee your treatment.
