Who are the Care Quality Commission (CQC)?

CQC are the independent health and adult social care regulator.

Their job is to make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate, high-quality care and we encourage them to improve.

They do this by monitoring, inspecting and regulating services to make sure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety and publish what they find, including performance ratings to help people choose care. See website

Church Street Medical Centre and Church Walk Surgery

Prior to the merger of Church Walk Surgery and Church Street Medical Centre to form Eastwood Primary Care Centre,  Church Walk Surgery was registered with the CQC and was inspected on the 25th August 2015 and received an overall rating of OUTSTANDING and Church Street Medical Centre also received a rating of OUTSTANDING from their inspection on 24th May 2016.
